Central Charter School Reviews

My child has been at Central Charter for two years and I am honestly not impressed with her progress. She has always been at the head of her class academically and neither of her teachers have really made an effort to challenge her. The teachers and staff have consistently promised me that they would work with her individually in order to develop her skills, but have not followed through with those promises. The school environment is positive and she enjoys her class. I believe they have the right intentions at heart, but I am just not happy with academic level of the program. Since she has been at Central Charter I have noticed her get lazy with her academic work and she does not enjoy learning the way she did at her previous school. In spite of their good intentions, she will not be there next year.

I have to say the school is great. I especially love the one on one attention a child receives when they are misinterpreting information wehn in thee learning setting. that is the correct why of working with children on different levels. This helps tremendously but you as a parent also have to be involved with the learning process. I do agree that thee afterschool prices are too much. There really isn't room for much discount even if I would have both of my children registered. It is a inconvenience. I really think they should create a aftercare program where we shouldn't have to pay for afterschool such as many other states have. But considering that this is flordia Central Charter School is holding its own.

i love this school! i have been going to ccs for 5 years now,and i think that every staff is awesome. they dont care who you are or what you do they just want you to learn and move up to be successful in life. The teacher that i think is the best is Mrs.anderson. i think so because she is always there for you and will push you toward something that she believs you can do.also the schools fiether's a field trip.they make the students decied where togo.trips are fun.they never let the students down whenever her'

Since 2006 I see CCS taking a trend that I am really concerned about. The focus is no longer on the kids but money. (The decision makers are losing track of what is important. The teachers are great). Please find out as much information as you can before enrolling your kids I don't know how much you are willing to put up with. My child makes straight A's because I talk to and work with his teachers. I hope CCS will make whatever improvements needed to keep the kids and teachers that are making them who they are at this time.

My Kindergartner just started in August of 2006. So far I am impressed with the dedication of the staff and teachers in managing students in behaviour and scholastic aptitudes. The only component in my opinion that needs improvement is the extra curricular activities, provided by the school. All in all a great school. Oh yeah, another thing is the after care costs are exorbitantly high! Hopefully this can be subsidized in the future.

Central Charter School has some gvery committed teachers who get the kids excited about learning. The school is particularly strong in writing skills. An energetic new young vice Principal came on board in the fall of 2003 and seems to be assisting the Principal to provide inspiration for both teachers and students to do their best. There's also a dynamic music teahcer who introduced a choral program and a music appreciation class. The school benefits from parent involvement as well as strong support from the local community. The Computer program has also added its fair share of excitement to the schools curriculum.
